Connection and sync problems
- Wallet not syncing — stuck at the same block, "0 active connections" or a progress bar that never moves.
- Out of sync after a chain split — an old wallet following the wrong version of the chain after a network update.

Something is not working in your Auroracoin wallet, and you want to know whether your coins are safe. Start here. This page groups the most common wallet problems reported by Auroracoin users and sends you to a step-by-step guide for each one.
Your Auroracoin (AUR) is recorded on the public Auroracoin blockchain. The wallet app on your computer does not hold the coins themselves. It holds the private keys that prove they are yours, and it shows a view of the blockchain.
That means most wallet problems are display or connection problems. A wallet that shows zero, stops syncing or will not open has usually lost its view of the network, not your money. As long as you still have your wallet file or your recovery words, your coins can be reached again.
Before you try any fix, do one thing: make a copy of your wallet file or confirm that your recovery words are written down and stored safely. Never delete a wallet file to "start fresh".
Many of these problems come from older wallet software, including the legacy Auroracoin Core desktop client and wallets that depend on a single outside server. Aurora Wallet is the new official desktop wallet for Auroracoin, developed under the Auroracoin Foundation. It is designed to connect to several network nodes, explain what it is doing in plain language and help you move from an old wallet file without losing access to your coins.
